I feel like I’m in tune with nature in this outfit. Floral top, nature-colored skirt plus curly hair! I would love to thank Ms. Joy of House of Luxe and Ms. Christine of Ombre Vintage for sending over these goodies! Aren’t the accessories and skirt adorable? Expect a giveaway tomorrow ;)

On a more personal note, I’ve been spending more time on the road lately because my job entails me to go here and there, meet this and that. Of course, in order to go from one place to another, I need to drive. I only have the radio to keep me company so I end up singing my heart out inside the car. But hey! Nobody’s there to hear so birit kung birit, haha! Plus, I get to improve my navigating skills so I’m so proud of myself.

On one occasion, I got to bring my brother with me so it was a little less lonely. Plus, I got an extra hand to take my outfit shots, teehee. These set of photos were taken by him. So what do you think?

Third time’s the charm for the most anticipated fashion bloggers event in the country!

Bloggers United is staging their third bloggers bazaar this June 2 at the Grandview Events Place to once again gather Manila’s top fashion bloggers in one single venue outside of the World Wide Web. After holding two successful events last year, Bloggers United has easily become one of the most anticipated affairs for both fashion bloggers and readers in the metro. More than just a bazaar, Bloggers United also partners with charitable groups to use and channel their influence in a positive manner.

Suesh Basic Makeup Workshop

I was invited by Sheryll of Suesh Makeup Toolkit to join their Basic Makeup Workshop at their Alabang Town Center branch. I was ecstatic and it was because of two things: I meant to attend the exact workshop and it’s near my place. So last Saturday, off to Suesh I went!

I am no expert in applying makeup and I have no idea which brush is which but I do have my way of applying my personal makeup, and thankfully it works for me. Thus I needed this workshop.

Ms. Suzanne Tan, Japan-trained makeup artist, was our mentor that afternoon. First was the basics and lecture, showed us a demo on what and what not to do and of course, the hands-on. It was quite intimidating to apply makeup in her presence, I had to keep on asking if I was doing it right. Good thing she was patient and gladly attended to our questions.

The workshop focused on three topics: bare, day and night.

On bare, I learned that your makeup would last longer if you use a primer, foundation, concealer then top it off with powder. The next was day and night with the eyes as the main attraction.

Workshop Outline:

Personal Skin care
Intro to Cosmetics/Tools
10 easy steps to achieving Leisure Day Makeup (Point by Point Makeup Technique)
Corrective makeup techniques
Recognizing individual features
Shading and Highlighting
Evening Makeup

Sweet Mom's Day Surprise

Yesterday, I was one of the fortunate moms who got a surprise from their little angel. It was in fact a sweet one. Literally! Sophia said she helped her grandma bake and decorate this little cake for me. Such a cutie pie! ♥

Hello! I got this theme from Addwater and tweaked it accordingly. As for my hair, believe it or not but my hair is naturally curly. I used to have my hair rebonded regularly so I kind of forgot how it looks like already. By the time I decided to just let it grow and free from rebonding… Voila! Naturally curly hair it is! And I love it! :)

Labor Day Weekend at Boracay

First of all, I would like to express my deepest regrets of leaving my camera in my luggage. I don’t know why I didn’t bother bringing it out thus I wasn’t able to document my entire trip. Bad, bad, bad idea! Thanks to a couple of friends (Paolo and Allen), I was able to grab a few photos from our Boracay Labor Day Weekend.

Say hello to the gang! Yes we were definitely a plenty. The more, the merrier!

Here we are with our ‘usual’ routine – Happy Hour at Sur/Two Seasons in the afternoon which will be followed by a power nap, dinner then off to party at Epic til dawn.

These Mojito cocktails got me real bad the first time around. I’ve had these before but that time, they tasted nothing more like juice. I had one, two, three, four… You get the point. Would you believe that we consumed 52 of these in one afternoon?

Another one of my regrets is not being able to take photos of me in my other swimsuits. I brought six with me (more than enough for five days), and I only have one photo. What’s worse is that the swimsuit that got the photo exposure was the least of my favorites. Boo!

On the last day, I told them that we should definitely do water activities because we haven’t done any during our entire stay (except for swimming of course). So we did Helmet Diving, Fly Fish and Paraw Sailing.

It was definitely an awesome week! I want to go baaaaaaack!!! :D

P.S. I’ll be launching a giveaway tonight which you should definitely watch out for. Especially if you’re the type who loves collecting swimsuits ;)

All About Cases

I don’t really travel much so packing is not my expertise. As I was organizing the clothes that I’ll bring to a 5-days and 4-nights vacation, it dawned to me that I also had to bring accessories, and lots of it.

Good thing I remembered that I have this accessory case from Envy Fashion+Accessories. It was compact so it didn’t take up too much space in my bag. With 6 compartments, I was able to bring the much needed ‘blings’.

Since I’m already talking about cases, let me show you another set of cases. Nope, not for accessories, this time, it’s for my beloved Blackberry. Chrisma of Cases for Your Gadgets was kind enough to send me two of them!

Dining at Alabang

When he asked me if I knew a nice place to eat or go to around Alabang or Las Pinas, I could only mention the restaurants found inside our malls. It then came to me that I know very little about the South’s must go-to places.

Imagine my surprise when we discovered Studio Kitchen. It is only located at the 2nd Floor of Commerce Center Building when all this time I thought they only had Army Navy, Tutti Frutti and Yellow Cab.

As if automatic, we ordered the Fresh Crab Salad (Php 330) which had fresh crabs, Granny Smith apple mash, piquillo, basil, espelette and fresh wasabi. 90% of the time I would order a crab salad. However, I missed the part that it had wasabi. Good thing it wasn’t that intense so we didn’t regret ordering this one.

Next we had Spicy Garlic Prawns Pasta Ala Chitarra (Php 400). Spicy prawns + pasta = Absolutely delicious! I also love how the cherry tomatoes bursts inside your mouth.

For our entree we had Lapu Lapu (Php 595). Curry emulsion, prawns, mussels, baby carrots, eggplant, potatoes and jasmine rice.

And last but definitely not least, Laiskonis “Egg” (Php 130) for dessert. Chocolate crème, with maple and caramel syrup, caramel foam and Maldon salt. Super duper yummy!

I have been a busy bee! I apologize for not being able to blog as often. I’ve been coming up with something for Shop Dainty plus attending to my job at the same time. Hopefully by next week I’ll be back to my blogging groove and get on with it. Go go go!

This is what I wore last Sunday on a very hectic day. I had to work all day and so I opted to wear something comfortable in order to move around freely. What do you think of the top and shorts? There’s something special about them but I won’t tell you just yet. Keep on guessing though!

I would like to thank Sam of Suy Bags. She saw me feature it in my Summer Essentials blog post and decided to send them over. Don’t be fooled about the size though. It might be small but it’s got plenty of pockets to put your stuff into, perfect for someone like me who has almost everything in her bag.

For the meantime, I’ll be taking a short break from all the work and blogging starting today until early next week because I am off to Boracay! Yeaaaaa!

I know I’ve worn this skirt slash shorts already in this post. Can you tell that it’s a favorite? I paired them with a sparkly top and detachable collar. I feel like a walking disco ball whenever I wear this top but I like it!

In 2007, the School of Fashion and the Arts broke ground and led the way as the Philippine’s first specialized Fashion College. Today, the SoFA Design Institute, holds under its wing the School of Fashion and the Arts and the SoFA School of Interior Design. SoFA has since carved its name as one of the country’s esteemed design education institutions having partnered with a variety of top industry practitioners and companies. It is also the Philippine partner of Europe’s leading fashion school, Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Paris and London.

Last Saturday, I was fortunate enough to be invited for an exclusive Open House event. I knew I wouldn’t want to miss it for anything so even though I don’t have an umbrella and the weather was bipolar that day, I went. Good thing every time I was out in the open, the rain would stop. Talk about luck! When I got to SoFa, I was cheerfully greeted by Angeli, the Communications and Admissions Officer, and met fellow fashion blogger Keigh Jalbuena. With that, I felt more comfortable.

Keigh and I took our outfit shots at the Student Lounge while we waited for the other bloggers to arrive. Unfortunately, we found out that they were stranded somewhere due to the heavy rains. The SoFA team then decided to just proceed with the program with only me and Keigh.

First off, Mr. Toby Guggenheimer, being the new Academic Dean, introduced SoFA’s new approach to design. He was the Department Assistant Chair of Parsons School of Design, and assistant professor for Special Programs of Pratt Institute. Honestly, I was intimidated at first but as we went along with his talk, I was more at ease. His talk was very inspiring and motivating that it made me want to pursue fashion more.

“A designer’s job is to make something out of a blank piece of paper. To put ideas on that paper, pull ideas out of that paper and create something out of nothing.”

The second part of the program was an exclusive Fashion Journalism workshop with Ms. Carla Cassanova-Perlas, former Managing Editor of Mega Magazine and current Editor-in-chief of Celebrity Living Magazine. Since Philippine Fashion Week is only weeks away, she talked about how to effectively write a runway report. She gave us writing tips and asked the right questions to think about the articles (or blog posts) we are supposed to write.

“You want the readers to relate. Get them immersed in that experience.”

She also gave us tips for our blogs, which actually made me think about what I want this blog to be about. It has never really occurred to me before who my target readers are. I then asked her, “How will I know who my target readers are?”. She immediately replied, “It’s up to you!”. With that said, I got her point.

And I have good news for all of you! I am inviting YOU to attend SoFA’s Open House on April 14, Saturday for you to be able to see and experience the School of Fashion and the Arts.

Shop Feature: The Style Quarter

The Style Quarter is an online retail store that aims to allows the Philippine market to have access to brands from different parts of the world. They give you options and don’t stick to the usual, popular brands.

The Style Quarter was founded and is managed by Ritchelle. Before this, she owned Fashion Global, another online store that brought in women’s clothing from Forever 21 and bags from Kenneth Cole, Nine West, Kate Spade, etc.

She had long been toying with expanding the Fashion Global line to include other items which catered to the same market, particularly beauty products and cosmetics. When Forever 21 opened its stores here in Manila, this became the push that she needed to finally do what she did with clothes, to makeup. Thus, The Style Quarter was born. The response has been positive to date, so she decided (with a heavy heart), to close down Fashion Global and focus on The Style Quarter. Her team includes Ida, Creative Consultant, and Rayshel, PR.

They offer a continuously growing collection of makeup brands and a vast array of shades suitable for each type of clientele. Whether you’re a makeup artist, a cosplayer or an everyday makeup user, you will always find something new and something fabulous at The Style Quarter.

They have recently expanded their services to include public and private/corporate makeup workshops. They work with experienced Makeup Trainers and Artists who are or have been affiliated with huge brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, Chanel, NARS and Laura Mercier. From the fundamentals, advanced and specific interests such as theater makeup and special effects, we collaborate with our Trainers to providing all the requirements to make the workshops possible.

What do you think of my print on print outfit? This is only one of the few times I’ve tried out this trend since I’m more conservative on wearing prints. Slowly I’m trying to incorporate more prints and colors in my closet so see more outfits like these in the future. Oh and just because this summer is all about color, I wore a yellow leather cuff to break away from the pink and black. I paired my outfit with these pink Mary Jane heels from Shop Dainty. As all of you may know, and it has been so obvious in my previous posts, I’ve already graduated from college! Yay me!
