While walking along Jupiter a few weeks back, we saw Romulo’s Cafe, a newly opened restaurant. We got attracted to its lovely interiors and decided to try it out. However, at that time, they were only accommodating diners with reservations. Disappointed but still eager, we both decided that we should dine there sooner or later. So on the second to the last day of me and Bea’s Starbucks internship, we found the perfect reason to celebrate. This time, we came prepared because we called for a reservation! Hurrah!

But before that, sneaky Bea had something else in mind. I wasn’t expecting anything at all but..

Surprise!

Now let’s see what’s inside..

It was Bea’s revenge because a few days after Christmas I also surprised her with gifts over our vegetarian dinner at Corner Treehouse Cafe. She didn’t expect it all and she got pseudo-mad because of it. Duh! That’s why it’s called a surprise! Haha!

Disclaimer: The Angry Bird stuffed toy is for Sophie, not me :p

After the quick surprise, off to Romulo’s we went. Before I enumerate what we ordered, I would like you to ‘aww’ over their interiors. This was actually the main purpose why we wanted to eat there, to check out and take photos of the place. We didn’t really care about the food at that time.

Was I right about the place being nice? I thought so ;)

Now on to dinner… We ordered Pinoy Nachos (Php 85), Boneless Crispy Pata Binagoongan, Lengua (Php 260), Ginataang Sigarilyas and Kalkag Rice (Php 135). I’m biased with anything bagoong so my favorites would be the binagoongan and sigarilyas.

Mind you, we aren’t gluttons! We met up with two other friends because the reservation was for 4 so the amount of food ordered was only appropriate. They were cynical about the place at first…

S and J: “Bakit ba gusto niyo dito?”
Bea and Erika: “Ganda ng place eh, pang-picture.”

..but I’m glad they changed their mind. The interiors weren’t just a fancy way to lure the people into the restaurant. The food was actually great! Plus affordable too!

In case you didn’t get that, the food was delicious!

Last mirror shot before we leave :)

It was indeed a celebration and the guys were nice enough to treat us. Great place, great food and great company. Whee! ;)
